One of the great challenges in IT organizations today is the superfluity of technologies and systems that they are required to support. Faced with financial challenges to do more with less, IT often assimilates too many systems, usually in small increments, resulting in a slow poisoning of the IT organization in terms of its ability to adequately support everything. The entire organization suffers because of IT’s lack of expertise and resources to support everything well.
